I was up early working in the east facing office when I looked over my computer screen and caught sight of the most beautiful sunrise and thought I’d just take a photo. I chastised myself “How many sunrises do you need photos of!” but still I reached for my phone. And there on my screen were the strongest greens and blues from yesterday’s photos and out the window were pinks and oranges and yellows. I couldn’t help thinking one of my favourite aspects of this house sit has been the variety of colours on our doorstep, well within an hour.
With only two days to go we're really trying to get out and make the most of our time in this very beautiful area. We've had a day on the Red Cat Adventure boat, it goes as fast as it can and gets you out to a reef for a snorkel and then some time wandering on an isolated beach. I loved the speed of the boat bouncing over the waves. Will was sure I'd be freaking out, because I would have been in a land vehicle if I'd felt we were moving that fast, but I just loved it. The captain did slow down to give us a great view of the whale breaching and playing along side us.
We're also ticking off the sensible, practical things - RAM in for its first service, more dental work, a little bit of op shopping, preparing a meal for our trip to the NT, repacking the van and packing up bits and pieces we've moved into the house sit.
As the day is over and the cool night seeps in and my yawns get ever bigger I'm going to let my pictures do the rest of my talking – here are my colours of Mackay.
